Experience color theory by printing multi-layered relief plates. What happens in the overlap of two complimentary colors? What does changing the saturation of a color do to the life of your print?
When layering color with multiple small carved and incised plastic plates, the overlaps and color vibrations begin to grow.
Using Akua Intaglio Inks to achieve transparent layered color harmonies, we can develop a new sense of color-in-action.
Monotypes and monoprints result from printing with repeatable carved plates interrupted with stencils and inking variations. Our substrates will be Sintra (PVC board) and PETG monotype plates. We will have a “color laboratory” attitude toward these small experimental plates. Play while learning the theory behind the results!
