This workshop will serve as a guided exploration of combining and creating both relief and Pronto polyester lithographic plates with the intention of exploring a variety of mark making in prints. We will carve and incise Sintra (a PVC plastic substrate) and learn to ink and print them with a monotype approach. In addition, participants will draw and brush onto Pronto plates. The lithographic lines printed from the Pronto plate are a nice contrast to the white, carved-away line of the Sintra plate. Layering these two types of plates together creates textural images built from a variety of linear marks. Some printmaking experience in monotype, relief or lithography is necessary.
