Learn how to capture the beauty of fluidity with a unique monotype and monoprint process.
This weekend workshop will teach students how to print watercolor and ink images in a way that freezes the movement of the media. Students will learn how to create unique monoprint plates, print them successfully, and then support the images created with layers of luscious and colorful transparencies. In addition to working with water-soluble crayons and Akua inks, students will also be introduced to the use of natural, handmade inks in this process. We will explore color and color mixing, additive and subtractive techniques, and find the joy in playing with gravity and chance.
