$245 members, $275 non-members
$40 materials fee includes use of screen, inks, dyes, some fabric
Learn to print on fabric with both ink and dye. In this class, we will use simple silkscreen stencils and Breakdown printing (a.k.a. Deconstructed Silkscreen) to create complex printed fabric. Breakdown printing uses thickened dyes to create monotypes with an ever-changing array of colors, marks, and textures. Experiment with color, transparency, shape, and texture using this spontaneous process. Students will come away from the class with finished yardage that can be incorporated into installation art, mixed-media work, quilts, or wall-hangings. No previous experience necessary.
