This newly developed 3-day workshop will explore approaches to using the Japanese method of watercolor woodblock printing, which usually utilizes multiple carved blocks, in a more free-form and economical way than is traditionally done. Using a single block and experimenting with white line and reduction carving methods along with masks, stencils and other techniques, participants will have the opportunity to discover new and contemporary ways of using this ancient method. The workshop is open to beginners as well as students who have already had some experience and want to expand their practice.
