As a printmaker I am intrigued by the variety of medium available to learn and practice. The possibilities offer various ways to interpret and translate color, texture and form. Discovering ways to layer color and lines, making multiple prints one on top of the other, often gives a surprising outcome not evident until one decides when the print is complete.

For the series I show on my Members’ Gallery page, here is my statement for these monotype hand-pulled works: I arrived at a point in my life where I felt darkness and gloom in this world. My mind traveled to memories of my country of Iceland where the summer brings bright colors and beautiful forms in nature. Taking in the views from a mountain top or looking up from a valley – reaching across the ocean to find the edge of the world at the horizon gives me the courage to keep going into the direction of fulfillment.
