MEMBERS STUDIO- 3 artists maximum per day.  One per press – with empty tables between people, 1 monitor at kitchen table, 2 people in office (Liz and Shel).

TEACHING STUDIO-  2 artists maximum per day. 1 per press – one on either side of the room

SCREEN PRINTING ROOM OR COMPUTERS OR PHOTO DARKROOM-  1 artist per day.

ANNEX- 1 artist per day.

UPON ARRIVAL-  Members will go immediately to the upstairs bathroom and wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.  After hand washing they will check in with the monitor in the Members’ Studio for their press/table assignments.  The monitor may take temperatures with infrared no-contact thermometer.

PRESS/TABLE ASSIGNMENTS-  Each member will be assigned a work station and a press for their exclusive use for the day.  Each work station will have its own cleaning kit (including disinfectant), rags, water soaking tray and blotting towels and newsprint.  Members may gather other materials to bring to their work stations from around the studio. Monitors will pre-tear newsprint and put it on each work table.

At the end of a member’s work day, they will be required to thoroughly clean and disinfect their work table, chair, tools, press, and any other items they used.  The monitor will have the right to inspect and ask for further cleaning/disinfecting if needed.

KITCHENS- will be closed.  Members may not use studio kitchens until further notice. Please bring your own food, beverage (including water, coffee, tea), utensils, napkins, etc.  Eating will not be allowed in the building – eat on the picnic table outside, in the courtyard or in your car.

LIBRARY- The library will be closed and books will be unavailable for use for the time being.

COMPUTERS/PRINTERS – will be available for member use (1 person per day) and members who use these facilities will be required to disinfect immediately after use.

SCREEN PRINTING STUDIO AND DARKROOM – will be available for member use (1 person per day) and members who use these facilities will be required to disinfect immediately after use.

PHOTOPOLYMER DARKROOM – will be available for member use (1 person per day) and members who use these facilities will be required to disinfect immediately after use.

SINK USE – The studio sinks will be available for members to use one at a time.  Please wait until the person using the sink has returned to their work area before moving to the sink area.

ETCHING TANKS – The etching tanks will be available for member use, 1 person per day upstairs and 1 person per day downstairs.  This time must be scheduled as part of the members’ studio use to make sure there are not more people in one space at a time.

AQUATINT BOOTH – The aquatint spray booth will be available for member use as long as there are not more than 2 people in the teaching studio simultaneously.  Users of the aquatint booth must disinfect the airbrush, aquatint solution bottles, spray booth and “hot box” handle immediately after use.

BATHROOMS- Both bathrooms will remain open for members’ use.  Members will be required to take their assigned disinfectant with them to the bathroom and to disinfect the toilet seat, handle, sink handles, light switches and doorknobs before exiting the bathroom.  We will provide paper towels, but if members prefer to bring their own cloth hand towel for their exclusive use, they may do so as long as it remains with them at all times.

CLEAN PAPER TABLES- Members will be allowed to use the clean paper table, tear bars and rulers for tearing paper.  They must disinfect the table and tools immediately after use.

RAGS- Rags will be single-use only until further notice.  Use them as fully as possible and then put them in the red metal bin.  There will be no “reusable rags.”

PRINT DRYER-  The print dryer will be available by appointment and only if it can be loaded and unloaded without assistance. There will be a 3-day waiting period between each use of the print dryer.  Schedule use with the studio monitor

SCHEDULING STUDIO TIME-  The sign up sheets will remain with the monitor.  Only monitors will sign people up.  Members can phone or ask monitor in person to sign them up.

BUYING SUPPLIES – All sales of paper, tarlatan, plate, etc. will be handled by the monitor. Members will not be allowed to get their own paper or other supplies.

CLEANING SUPPLIES- Individual cleaning supplies will be at each work station.  No communal cleaning.

HVAC USE- As much as we can we will use the natural ventilation of the windows to bring fresh air into the studio.  When the temperature gets above 75 F. we will turn on the air conditioners.  The HVAC system re-circulates the air three times through a HEPA and allergen filter before returning it to the space.

RESIDENCIES- If we have an artist in residence, they will be the sole occupant of the apartment and the annex studio. They will not be in the members’ studio.  If they have a need to use other facilities within the studio, they will schedule that ahead of time and be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting the facilities immediately after use.

ZEA MAYS PRINTMAKING WILL DO OUR BEST TO PROVIDE A SAFE, CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT.  MEMBERS AND RESIDENCY ARTISTS KNOW THAT THEY ARE USING THE FACILITIES AT THEIR OWN RISK.
