Sally Frank

I am an artist/printmaker whose imagery is drawn from the natural world and my strong sense of connection with the earth. Nature is my refuge and my inspiration. Forests and fields provide space to connect with the origins of our very existence. It is in these places that I discover poetic beauty, mystery, and a sense of primal wisdom.
In my work, I try to connect with the invisible forces that flow through the forests, hills, rivers, and lakes. I use a variety of printmaking techniques to create etchings, woodcuts, monotypes and lithographs illuminate nature’s complexities. My process often involves layering different images, experimenting with the interactions of light and shadow and delicate structures of plants and trees. The patterns that occur naturally in leaves, branches and bark offer limitless inspiration.
