Deborah Yaffe
I am interested in creating multi-layered surfaces, reminiscent of textures found in nature, in the woods, or on the ground. I love the process of printmaking, of adding and subtracting to a plate and waiting to seeing what happens. My work is one way I respond to and process the inner and outer world. Art making helps me feel my connection to the earth. Through my work I explore the relationship between the body and nature, the process of time and personal and collective history, and cycles of growth and decay.
