After the death of a loved one, there is grief, but there is also an absence, a void. This absence is a thing, an inverse presence if you will, with volume and actuality. It has tangibility yet is intangible.

This series, “Spectrum: the Presence of Absence” is an ongoing investigation of this tangible intangible. Trusting chance interactions between color, water and paper, these works are the result of multiple attempts to find and fix a form to what is not there yet is so much a part of my reality in the wake of loss.
