”The Brick Series” is inspired by the brick architecture I have seen in The Netherlands, particularly in Amsterdam. I’ve spent many hours walking around that mighty city, gazing in wonderment at building facades, sidewalks, fences, and sculpture, etc., and hold sincere respect to the craftspeople who created those places and things. Curves and weird inserts in brick walls especially amaze me. This grouping of eight monotype prints, utilizing the traditional brick-like color and textures, is a nod to all of those people who built such fine objects and places of use which we all still enjoy today.
