April 1, 2011 – May 15, 2011
Reception: May 14, 1pm – 3pm

Beyond daily studio maintenance, interns assist with artist led workshops and perform technical research in less- toxic and non-toxic printmaking techniques. Zea Mays Printmaking interns have the unique opportunity of learning the ins and outs of working in a non-toxic studio. The skills and know-how they acquire are integral to the understanding of the many processes of printmaking and execution of their own work. Interns learn from the working artists that surround them and inevitably become part of a vibrant community of printmakers.

After moving on from their experiences as interns, many remain active artists and some are still involved with Zea Mays. This exhibition showcases the current work of eighteen Interns Zea Mays has had over the last ten years.

The exhibition includes work by Sarah Zidonik, Taiga Ermansons, Megan Klazura, Olya Alekseeva, Hannah Richards, Kim Gatesman, Lea Chiara, Maya Malachowski Bajak, Leah Allen-Costa, Elena Betke-Brunswick, Louise Kohrman, Esther S. White, Emily Orzech, Amelia E. Vottero, Lyell Castonguay, Brianna Ashe, Melissa Mandel and Chelsea Mullins.
