This weekend workshop is an introduction to photo collagraph; a combination of photography and hand plate making. Make atmospheric, textured, and expressive photo collagraph plates from your own digital images. Participants will be instructed in how to use screen printing techniques to take photographic images from photo copier to plastic plates. These plates are inked in an intaglio manner and printed on rag papers.
Students will make a few different collagraph plates from a single film positive, experimenting with different plate preparations, gel mediums, and carborundum.
No Photoshop required, some printmaking experience recommended but not required.
