THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL
Nourishing Your Art Practice
Let’s use this strange & stressful time as a chance to reflect on your own artwork, deepen your practice and consider new possibilities. The heart of this workshop is sharing and discussing your own work, with an emphasis on encouragement and growth. We’ll combine this with short exercises in making & brainstorming, along with investigating diverse sources of inspiration.
We’ll start each session with looking at artworks that embody a particular theme, ranging among both contemporary & historical examples. Possible themes include: intention & accident; marks & energy; space & negative space; and evoking vs. describing. Weekly prompts offer simple ways to stretch, take risks and expand your reach. These elements provide a structure for building your own momentum, whether you’re renewing your excitement about a current project, or finding your way back into art-making after an interruption. Our process of exploration will help you to clarify your ideas, connect with your instincts, and deepen your understanding of your strengths as an artist.
You will need to download ZOOM to your device (laptop, computer, ipad or phone) to participate. It’s free to get a basic ZOOM account. Once you register, you will receive an email from the teacher with instructions on how to join the workshop via ZOOM.
Sliding scale fee: $100-$300 for 6 week class
