Margaret Jean, “Moonlight #13”, linoleum block print
August 3, 2013 – August 31, 2013
Reception: Aug 11, 2pm – 4pm
Zea Mays Printmaking is proud to present the first retrospective exhibition of Margaret Jean’s print work. Spanning decades, the selections include etchings, lithographs, woodcuts, linocuts, photopolymer intaglios, mixed media prints and artist’s books. Margaret’s images explore the beauty, power and ferocity of the many landscapes she has occupied.
This exhibition presents a rare opportunity to view original prints spanning four decades and a path to non-toxicity from a pioneer in printmaking. From her education at Yale University, back to her roots in the Southwest, the grandeur of Montana and the last eight years printing at Zea Mays Printmaking, Margaret Jean remains a unique and vital force in printmaking in 2013.
