Experiment Title: Mirror Step Test in Revived Bath
Experiment Goal: To test our newly revived bath and to test the strength of the bath with a time test. Also we wanted to retest the mirror quality 5052.
Plate material: Aluminum 5052 (Mirror)
Plate Preparation: Soaked in a soy sauce bath, then degreased with 7th Generation spray.
Evaluation of Plate Preparation: Plate wasn’t degreasing as well in the soy sauce soak compared to our last mirror 5052 test.
Etching Bath Notes: Copper started lifting quickly after submerging the plate.
Time in bath: 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min
After Bath Evaluation: Normal
Removal of Grounds: N/A
Inking Methods: Bone black, 10% Burnt Plate Oil 00
Paper Type: Hahnemuhle Copperplate
Soaking Time: 15 min
Press, blanket set up, pressure: Praga press, 2 catchers, 6/8, 6/8
Conclusions: When compared to to our previous mirror step test (5/24/2018) the results were a tad lighter, but still accurate and fairly consistent.

Mirror 5052 step test. Top to bottom: 0 sec, 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min, 3 min, 5 min
