A great introduction to the intaglio process! Drypoint is a way of drawing directly into an intaglio plate without using acid. Drypoint is known for its velvety, rich, tonal line and textural quality that results when a burr is lifted in the metal plate during the drawing process. Several drypoint techniques will be demonstrated and students will create one image.

We will spend the day drawing, proofing, and printing. A large still life will be set up in the middle of the studio for inspiration, but students are also welcome to bring sketches or ideas to help with image-development. This class will introduce basic drawing fundamentals through drypoint instruction.

A great workshop for beginners. All levels welcome!
Copper plates, paper, inks and instructional handouts included.
