Marnix Everaert

Marnix Everaert is an artist and professor safer printmaking at the Academy for Visual Arts Ghent, Belgium.

Since 2000 he has been working exclusively with safer printmaking techniques and build up an expertise in this field of intaglio. Many printmaking teachers at schools in Flanders changed to non-toxic after following one of his workshops. 
Marnix has given workshops in universities, schools and institutions in Belgium, Holland, Spain, USA, Japan, South-Africa.  He has been working together with Henrik Bøegh from Grafisk Experimentarium (Denmark) and Keith Howard (R.I.T. Rochester, NY).
Marnix got a BA and MFA in Printmaking at the School of Arts Ghent. 
Besides teaching he is also an artist who’s work has been shown in and abroad Belgium. Marnix has a deep interest in science (particularly the historie of science at the end of the 18th, start of the 19the century) and a main theme in his work is “wondering”. He creates worlds that refer to our own reality but also to a made up reality, “science fiction” is not far away.
