Tone, Texture and Randomness: Experimental Aquatint Techniques
April 4 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
$200.00
Saturday, April 4, 10 AM-5 PM
Registration Deadline: April 3
This one day workshop focuses on play, experimentation and intuition!
We will begin with an introduction to coffee lift, a technique using instant coffee and BIG etching ground to create selected areas for aquatint exploration on a copper etching plate. Â This is a very painterly approach to image making. Â After isolating areas for adding aquatint we’ll play with different approaches to using stop outs for a variety of textures and tones.
Push your knowledge of aquatint to a new level and learn how vast the possibilities are for creating tone and texture in an etching! Â Some prior etching experience is helpful, but not required.
