Summer Monoprint Project Lab
July 6 @ 10:00 am - July 9 @ 5:00 pm
$600.00Thursday-Sunday, July 6-9, 10 AM-5 PM
with Joyce Silverstone
For artists with monotype experience, bring a print project to develop and work on during this 4-day workshop with an experimental open laboratory feel. The intention for these four days is to give you supportive assistance where and when you need it for an independent project or intended focus of study that you choose.
Individual feedback and group sharing will be part of each day, as well as technical help with permanently marked, glued, scratched or carved plates to develop and complete your project goals. Guidance in choosing paper, monotype technique or new ways of combining monotype methods may lead to a group demonstration or to a one-to-one in-depth exploration in your area of research.
Enjoy the support of the group and be inspired by learning from looking closely at prints. Explore and experiment by delving deeper into what is needed; maybe your project includes drypoint mark making / drawing, or stencil making and printing from stencils, or multi-plate color layering? Enjoy the support of an experienced teacher and the group and be inspired by learning from looking closely at prints.
Soon after registering for this workshop, each participant will be asked to email their project ideas, including their questions and goals for this 4 day intensive.
Joyce Silverstone is a graduate and traveling fellow of The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Her current body of work and her workshop teaching centers around layered multiple plate printing using monotype inking methods.
