See the World Through Touch
December 10 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm$160.00
Saturday, December 10, 10 AM – 5 PM
with Joyce Silverstone
Spend a day turning your attention to your sense of touch. Explore finding images from a playful series prompts / constraints while touching ink to paper and using materials, textures and tools that are hand-friendly. During this Workshop / Touch Laboratory students will learn ways of making charcoal rubbings and transfer drawings, and then printing those ephemeral recordings of touch. There will be time to print using stencils and masks based on how an edge feels… and let your curiosity guide your process.
Weather permitting we will record the feel of the world just outside the studio, and when we are inside discover how to draw what your sense of touch allows you to see — differently.
No printmaking experience is needed, just a desire to slow down and enjoy taking in the world through touch.
