
Professional Artist Essentials: Artists’ Statement, Resume and Bio via ZOOM

Each of these documents operate as a stand in for your own voice when you aren’t there to talk about your work in person. Participants will craft these essential written materials used to present yourself for a variety of professional goals & opportunities. We will assess what makes a great artist statement, share best practices & templates for resumes, create a master CV, & draft multiple options for your bio. Class time will include meeting as a group for presentations & discussions with intermittent breakouts for work time & one-on-one consultation to fine-tune your written materials. Group will meet from 10am – 2pm, followed by 30 minute individual meetings to be scheduled within the week for each participant.

About the Instructor:
Tracey Cockrell is an interdisciplinary artist who frequently collaborates with other artists, writers, & musicians. Her ongoing creative research focuses on the confluence of sound & vision. She is visiting faculty in sculpture at Bennington College & teaches in the MFA in Studio Art at Maine College of Art (MECA).
