Printing and Adhering Thin Papers

$460.00

Saturday-Sunday, November 9-10, 10 AM-5 PM

with Liz Chalfin

Studio Director and ZMP Founder Liz Chalfin is back in the Teaching Studio for a brand new weekend workshop!

Thin, non-rag papers are gorgeous substrates for your prints but offer unique printing and pasting challenges. Whether you’re printing on gampi, kozo or kitakata for use in later prints, sculptures or books, or printing and pasting simultaneously (chine collé) there are tips and tricks for doing this successfully.

During this two-day workshop, we will address issues around wrinkling and creasing during printing, different ways of drying prints made on thin papers, and a variety of adhering techniques including wheat paste chine collé, dry adhesive sheets, roll-on PVA adhesive and stitching.

This workshop is for printmakers with experience in either intaglio, relief, photopolymer or collagraph and will focus on printing, not platemaking. Bring your intaglio, collagraph or relief plates and learn the ins and outs of printing and adhering thin papers.
