Turn your passion into posters and learn how to screen print!
In this 4-day workshop, students will explore the history and power of the printed political poster. They will learn screenprinting techniques, research a topic and create original printed posters that share a message that they are passionate about. This workshop is for teens who are ready to use art to spark change!
We’ll be working with hand drawings and/or digital images. Students will learn how to coat and expose a screen and then dive into printing. All materials provided. Class size is limited to 6 participants.
This workshop is open to participants aged 14-18. Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver giving them permission to attend the class.
About the Instructor:
Zoë Dong is a printmaker and multidisciplinary artist living in Northampton, MA. Originally from the rust belt city of Akron, Ohio, she moved to Western Mass to attend Smith College, graduating in 2018 with a BA in Studio Art. Zoë has worked as a printer’s assistant on several contract printing jobs at Zea Mays Printmaking. A freelance videographer and filmmaker, Zoë is also the director of Zea Mays’ online workshop videos. She worked as a Visual Arts counselor at DASAC in 2023.
