Organic Impressions: Creating Monotypes and Monoprints with Plant-Based Inks and Dyes

May 21, 2022 @ 10:00 am - May 22, 2022 @ 5:00 pm

$270 – $310

with Marjorie Morgan

This workshop is full. Email to be placed on the waiting list.

This weekend workshop combines artistry with science and environmentalism as we discover how different natural items transform from living matter into rich inks and dyes. Students will learn how to make their own inks from foraged, natural items and then use these inks in unique monotype processes to create vivid, original monotypes.

We will also use natural dyes and foraged plant materials to make eco prints on paper. In addition, students will learn about the difference between “dyes” and “pigments,” and “organic” vs. “inorganic” materials (valuable information to successfully continue working with natural materials). This workshop is fun and very hands-on!
All levels of printmaking students are welcome.
Limited to 8 participants
Saturday and Sunday, 10-5 daily
Proof of Covid-19 vaccination required
