Week 1: Exploring carving, inking, printing and color
Week 2: Color reduction
Week 3: Multiple block prints
Week 4: Stencils, masks, selective inking, simple chine colle
A weekly structure will allow you to work on your projects in between our meetings together. This workshop is appropriate for both newcomers and experienced woodcut artists.
Please bring a sketchbook, drawing supplies, woodcut tools and a honing strop. (Reach out if you need suggestions for purchasing tools.) The studio will provide all the basics: Shina woodblocks, paper, registration pins and tabs, ink, etc.
