Drypoint & Drawing

January 27 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

$165.00

Saturday, January 27, 10 AM – 5 PM

with Joyce Silverstone

Spend a day making marks, textures and lines, while exploring monotype drawing methods to approach making a plate with repeatable elements. Instruction will highlight how to make and print a drypoint plate with time to practice intaglio wiping skills. Demonstrations will include the ins and outs of modifying Akua Intaglio Inks, as well as layering and manipulating color additions to create one-of-a-kind monotypes.

We will start the day by making transfer drawings to use as guides for making drypoint plates. We will be working on PETG, a flexible transparent plastic plate material. This same substrate is used for making drypoint images and to add monotype additions of color.

Get to know the fundamentals of ink, paper and press use, along with the tools of the studio, the unique qualities of Akua Water-based Inks, and innovative monotype and drypoint methods.
