Take the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of color mixing with printmaking inks.

Relaxing and meditative color exercises will be followed by relief block practice projects with emphasis on color interpretation, value, intensity, high and low contrast, transparency and opacity, layering and color interaction.

This workshop will include limited printmaking demonstrations, focusing more on color mixing and charts, however traditional and experimental relief techniques will be addressed including carving, color, multiple block registration, press and hand printing. Participants will create a portfolio including individual color charts for future reference and a series of related expressive color prints.

There is no need for a press. All levels are welcome.

A complete materials list will be sent after registration.  Basic materials needed include:

• blocks (woodblock or linoleum or speedy cut)
• carving tools
• ink
• paper
• brayer
