Learn how to move beyond the confines of the rectangular or square page in your bookmaking. In this two-day workshop, we will explore alternate shapes, adding/modifying pages using adhesives, stitching and collage, creating books that incorporate 3D materials and much more. The emphasis will be on matching structure with content, but you are welcome to make templates and blank books for further experimentation. We will also review the basics of folding, scoring, creating covers and common book structures.
No previous bookmaking experience necessary. Bring your imagination and old prints/papers/collage materials that you’d like to recycle into a book form.
