
2-Day Color for Printmakers via ZOOM

During this two-day workshop, participants will learn strategies on how to intentionally mix color inks and use color in their prints, through color charts. Emphasis will be given to value, color intensity and temperature, cool and warm neutrals, monochromatic and split complementary color schemes. Printmaking inks properties and the use of transparency will be discussed. Participants are welcome to use any inks of their choice. In addition to demonstrations, the workshop will include time for sharing and feedback from the instructor and fellow participants. This workshop will include limited printmaking demonstrations, focusing more on color mixing and charts.
There is no need for a press. All levels are welcome.
The workshop includes demonstrations, hands-on work time and group sharing.
Basic materials required include:
- Akua Intaglio Ink starter set or other printmaking inks
- printing paper
- glass/plexi glass for color mixing
- ink knife
- misc. tools
About the Instructor:
Amaryllis Siniossoglou is a tenured full-time faculty at the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Worcester State University. As an artist she actively shows nationally and internationally. Her artwork involves printmaking, book arts and digital media, painting and sculpture, and is included in museums and collections. She speaks English, French, Italian and Greek and lives in Cambridge, MA where she runs a print studio.
