
1-Day Monotype Experience via ZOOM

This one-day workshop will offer participants a monotype experience while exploring composition, color and thematic context. Abstract and/or representational interpretations will be addressed through line, shape and texture, painterly approaches, additive and subtractive techniques, the use of masks and stencils, and trace monotype.
Emphasis will be given to composition, print format, movement, and working in series. Mixing ink and the use of transparency and transparent layers, multiple plate printing and registration, paper choice, and gradient will be discussed.
Participants are welcome to use any inks of their choice.
In addition to demonstrations, the workshop will include time for sharing and feedback from the instructor and fellow participants.
No press is needed.
Basic materials required include:
- PETG printing plates
- Akua Intaglio Ink starter set or other printmaking inks
- printing paper
- misc. tools

About the Instructor:
Amaryllis Siniossoglou is a tenured full-time faculty at the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Worcester State University. As an artist she actively shows nationally and internationally. Her artwork involves printmaking, book arts and digital media, painting and sculpture, and is included in museums and collections. She speaks English, French, Italian and Greek and lives in Cambridge, MA where she runs a print studio.
