Drypoint and Trace Monotype offer the artist a wide range of mark making possibilities, some permanent, some transient. During this one-day workshop participants will have the opportunity to learn how to create and print drypoint plates, and explore compositions using trace monotype.
Using PETG plates and/or recycled materials such as plastic salad containers and multiple color trace monotypes, we will explore line quality and textures to create innovative compositions. Participants will be exposed to inking options, how to prepare a damp-pack, basic color mixing and printing. Multiple plate registration with also be addressed.
The workshop includes demonstrations, hands-on work time and group sharing.
About the Instructor:
Amaryllis Siniossoglou is a tenured full-time faculty at the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Worcester State University. As an artist she actively shows nationally and internationally. Her artwork involves printmaking, book arts and digital media, painting and sculpture, and is included in museums and collections. She speaks English, French, Italian and Greek and lives in Cambridge, MA where she runs a print studio.
