The Emerging Printmaker Membership is designed for artists who have recently graduated from a printmaking program and are looking for a new community in which to practice, grow and make connections. Artists who have finished school often find themselves in sudden need of a workspace, and the cost of studio time can be a barrier for those who’s careers are just beginning. This program is intended to address those needs and ensure that our studio is a welcoming space to printmakers at all stages of their journey as artists.

Artists who are accepted as Emerging Printmakers receive 1 free year of Studio Membership and a 50% discount on Studio Access Hours. Included are all the benefits of membership, such as a 10% discount on in-studio workshops, the opportunity to submit work to the Flat File, and invitations to group exhibitions.

To be considered eligible, applicants must have completed an academic degree or certification in printmaking within the past two years. There is no age limit to apply. Bachelor’s and master’s degrees as well as community college certificates are accepted. Applications are reviewed by the Zea Mays Printmaking leadership team and accepted based on your curriculum, your commitment to Zea Mays Printmaking’s mission of sustainability, and on if we feel our facilities are a good fit for your needs as an artist.

At this time, we are able to award 4 Emerging Printmaker Memberships per year.
