Liz Bannish is the former Shop Manager and Collaborative Printer for the Center for Contemporary Printmaking. After getting her BFA from UMASS Amherst in 2012, she served as Printmaking and Photo Technician for Smith College for five years. In addition to overseeing their print, photo, and typography studios, she worked with college officials in coordinating the art department’s chemical hygiene and OSHA HAZCOM Programs. She has had the pleasure to train with master printers including Peter Pettengill (Wingate Studio), Liz Chalfin (Zea Mays Printmaking), and Barry Moser (Pennyroyal Press). At CCP, she collaborates with artists on fine print projects, teaches workshops, maintains the shop and equipment, and much more. Liz also travels to other shops to teach on subjects of printmaking, photography, and chemical safety in the artist’s studio. When not getting her hands inky, Liz is a volunteer SCUBA diver at the local aquarium and assists in the maintenance of their exhibits.
