Drawing and Drypoint with Lynn Peterfreund

Lynn Peterfreund
Saturday & Sunday, November 16-17, 10-5
$275 non-members, $245 members
$30 materials fee covers ink, plates and paper

Explore the beauty of translating a drawing into a print.  This weekend workshop begins with two guided drawing sessions: first, drawing from observation, followed by drawing expressively.  Inspired by the drawings, participants will make two plastic drypoint plates – using a direct transfer method.  The two plates may be related and used individually, together as layers or side by side.

Besides guidance in drawing, techniques taught include drypoint mark making specific to the plastic plates and a variety of printing options. On Sunday we’ll explore adding color during printing.

We’ll use water soluable, soy-based Akua Intaglio inks and a variety of papers as we experiment with ways of printing layered and less traditionally wiped drypoint plates.

All levels of printmaking students are welcome.
