This weekend workshop will introduce students to the exciting field of creating inks from natural materials and using them in monotype printmaking. This creative learning experience combines artistry with science and environmentalism as we discover how different natural items transform from living matter into rich pigment.

Students will learn how to make their own inks from foraged, natural items and then use these inks in monotype processes. We will explore using the inks in a variety of ways as we generate unique plates and print them to create vivid, original monotypes.

This workshop will also delve into Ecoprints – printing directly from plant matter onto treated paper.

No prior printmaking experience necessary.  Limited to 8 participants.
