Working in either woodcut or monotype, participants will be guided through relaxing and meditative color exercises which will deepen your understanding of printmaking inks, color mixing, the use of transparency and opacity, high and low chromatic schemes, color vibration and spatial effects. Emphasis will be given to color meaning and perception, color interpretation, responsiveness and awareness.

Participants will complete one or more multiple-block prints or multiple-plate monotypes, printed in different color schemes.

This workshop is open to anyone who has taken Color and Prints I, or has a basic understanding of color theory.  No press necessary.  A complete materials list will be sent upon registration, and will include either basic woodblocks, carving tools, ink, paper and brayer or basic monotype plates, ink, paper and brayer.
