Bring your old, unresolved, or proof prints and random papers and materials to this workshop for making collage prints.
We’ll start constructing prints with whatever you bring, create or trade for. Next, we’ll add in layers of monotype, transfer drawing and anything the print calls for to bring it to a final resolution.
Basics of monotype printing, transfer drawing, and use of large rollers will be demonstrated. We’ll discuss various adhesives, as well as techniques for keeping the surface flat when desired.
This is a great class for printmakers of any level, photographers, and any artists who work on paper.
This workshop is presented as part of Zea Mays’ “Green to the Extreme” series in which we are focusing on ways to make art that recycles and up-cycles materials.
