In this workshop we will extract materials from the refuse and cast-off materials of our daily lives and art-making and transform them into an expanded handmade artists’ book. Working with one of the most durable book forms, the accordion fold, we will add expanded spines to make room for 3D inclusions and also discuss sewing paper and fabric into the structure of our books. Bring old prints, small bits of junk and your very large imagination.
This workshop is presented as part of Zea Mays’ “Green to the Extreme” series in which we are focusing on ways to make art that recycles and up-cycles materials.
