Limited to 6 participants
This weekly ZOOM class is offered to students with curiosity but just a beginning level of experience in monotype or printmaking of any type. It is a continuation of the Monotype Basics for Beginners workshop, and is open to participants who have taken that workshop, or are familiar with beginning monotype techniques.
Students will be continue their engagement with all aspects of monotype: inks, papers, printing (without a press), tools, and studio set up. Loosely organized around the exploration of formal art elements, the demos will introduce processes based on how to work with line, value, shape, color and composition. There will be lots of time to ask questions, clarify what is happening in the demonstrations and show work. The atmosphere is supportive and open.
Students will be encouraged to find ways of working that suit both their aesthetic preferences and logistical needs.
