This workshop will explore the broad range of marks available on copper without the use of acid. Participants will be introduced to several non-acid techniques to create textures and tones, hard and soft lines. From drypoint, to engraving, to tonal roulette and burnishing techniques, we will play with both additive and subtractive mark making to create rich imagery.

You will be introduced to a breadth of tools and we will play with the unconventional use of tools such as found objects and the dremel tool. We will work in black and white. All materials including copper plates, ink and paper included. ZMP has several tools available for use but you are welcome to bring your own. You can expect to work on 1 or 2 small to medium sized images. No prior printmaking experience required.

Materials fee includes copper plates, inks and paper
