Channing Lefebvre
August 2021
curated by Pamela Crawford
These prints invite introspection, contemplation. They are joined together by their shared connection to geometry—relationships made with lines, shapes and space. Channing’s tiny toy-like shapes are whimsical yet orderly and serious, unique symbols which may be an alphabet I have yet to learn. My eyes wonder and roam through Judith’s colorful monotypes whose balance and movement are to me, simply exquisite. Maya’s beautiful aquatints float and dance on their paper’s fibers. Are they remnants of past civilizations or components of future habitats? Give the prints time and see where they take you.
This exhibition includes work by Esther S. White, Jennifer Gover, Channing Lefebvre, Judith Bowerman, Angela Zammarelli, Scott McDaniel, Maya Malachowski Bajak, Margaret Merritt, Richard Turnbull and Marjorie Morgan.
