$300 non-members, $270 members
$40 materials fee includes film, plates, paper, inks
In this workshop participants will make two different kinds of collagraph plates using screen printing technologies and digital or drawn images. Pre-coated photo silkscreen emulsion sheets will be employed to make “instant” photo collagraphs. We’ll add acrylic media, carborundum and silk aquatint methods into the mix to provide students with multiple directions that they can take their images. Once the plates are made, students will learn various ways of inking and printing their plates.
This workshop is a good intro to photo collagraph techniques, and also offers an exciting alternative material to more experienced printmakers. Plate-making methods taught in this class are easily adapted to the home studio.
Open to all levels – no Photoshop required.
