I have been intrigued by the natural world since I was a child and it has played a major role in my approach to art. Images drawn from the physical sciences and geometric forms are often juxtaposed with organic shapes to portray images that hint of Surrealism or the Moderns of the 1930 ‘s and 40’s. I embrace these as they emerge. I strive for a sense of space creating an illusion of depth and foreground through the interplay between energy and tension and the light, sound, and motion of a scene. Color plays a major role in my work and that plus gestural marks create a dance of all these factors.
