Learn to make a short animation composed of a series of small monotypes, taking advantage of the speed and serial nature of making monotype prints.
In this two day workshop, you’ll learn the basics of monotype printmaking with Akua Inks and see how they can be used to create a series of prints with increments of change. Discussion will include , creating movement, sequencing and editing prints for animation. The prints will then be photographed, cropped and uploaded into a basic GIF program and voila! – there is your animation.
Open to beginning through advanced monotype printers. Students will be asked to bring a phone with a camera and a laptop. If you don’t have either, we’ll help out with devices at the studio.
