This workshop will teach the tools of the trade of intaglio color printing. Bring brand new plates or continue to work on in-progress plates and work towards completing an image or developing an edition. Getting your plates “print ready”, making paper choices, ink selection, registration, printing and editioning tips, multiple plate printing, curating prints, drying, signing and numbering prints will be covered.
Color intaglio processes will be demonstrated including color mixing, ink modification, multiple plate printing with color overlays, and a la poupé
e. Each participant will make their own set of color test plates and print a series of color experimentations, in addition to developing their own image or edition.
Previous intaglio experience strongly recommended.
Copper plates, paper, inks and instructional handouts included.
