Gelatin plates are exactly what you think they are – printing plates made from food grade gelatin which are used to create series of monotypes. Learn to make and use gelatin plates for monotype in this weekend workshop. Gelatin plates are printed without a press, making this is a great technique to learn for your home studio. Using Akua Watersoluble Inks, we will explore reductive and additive techniques, make impressions with found objects, and even cut and carve the plates.
Bring a sense of adventure and experimentation. No previous printmaking experience is necessary.
